Job description

We are looking for a motivated individual to support our ESG team and help us to ensure sustainability throughout our supply chains. This includes helping us to comply with the ever-extending ESG regulations, such as the EU-Deforestation directive, EU-Packaging regulations or the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, and to help us improve our vendor due diligence processes and purchasing decisions. Thus, you should have very strong people skills and a strong understanding of vendor management. 

 

You will be reporting to the Head of Compliance & ESG but working very closely with closely with all supply chain and procurement functions of both Retail, Catering and operational consumables. Therefore, you would ideally be based either in Copenhagen or Rødby (Denmark), or in Puttgarden/Rostock (Germany), and we expect a willingness to travel and be close to our business and colleagues.

Area of responsiblities

  • Determine the supply chain's sustainability-related issues and develop approaches with our purchasing and ESG teams to address them
  • Improve our supplier due diligence processes in better integrate ESG considerations in our purchasing decisions  
  • Work together with internal stakeholders to include sustainability into all aspects of the procurement and supply chain process
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of the supplier performance level with regard to sustainability criteria
  • Help the business to comply with supply chain relevant ESG regulation (e.g., EU-Deforestation regulation)
  • Determine best-practice data structures in relevant systems (ERP, etc.) to implement smooth and automated reporting processes
  • Within the procurement functions, monitor and report on sustainability measures and key performance indicators (KPIs)

Personal skills

A person with several years of professional experience in purchasing and/or supply chain management. Ideally, you already have some experience with relevant ESG frameworks and legal requirements around ESG topics and would be looking forward to learning more in this area.

 

You probably hold an academic degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain management or similar, ideally with a focus on sustainability management or comparable. If you could demonstrate (international) experience in transportation, logistics and/or Retail, that would be ideal. 

 

Additionally, we are looking for someone who is: 

  • Confident in handling  MS Office 
  • Experience with ERP master data structures to accommodate reporting requirements
  • Fluent in oral and written English, proficiency in German and / or Danish are a clear advantage
  • Good business understanding and not afraid to challenge the current processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in an international environment
  • Strong process analyzing skills and used to work in a structured manner
  • Proactive and insisting approach (if necessary) towards managers and employees
  • Willing to travel between sites in Denmark (Rødby, Gedser and Copenhagen) and Germany (Puttgarden, Rostock and Hamburg)
